We Must Remember!

We must remember those that went before, remember the sacrifice, remember the hardship, remember the victories and the defeats.  We must remember the valor, remember the strength and remember the providence of God in the lives of many great men and women.  We must not forget!

We had the amazing privilege to hear and be reminded of these things when we sat and listened to a great hero and man of God recount what the Lord has done in his life.  Mr. Edgar Harrell has an amazing story, but part of what makes his story so profound is the fact that he recognizes the providence of God though all the difficulty and hardship of WWII and the sinking of his ship the USS Indianapolis.

We spent an evening dressed in 1940’s attire,  remembering in song, hymns and stories  from the 1940’s.  We remembered and honored a true hero.  In the process we ourselves made many memories that will not soon be forgotten.

“Remember the days of old; consider the generations long past.

Ask your father and he will tell you, your elders, and they will explain to you.”

Deuteronomy 32:7
